Hampton, VA (August 29, 2026) – A 58-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck and succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night, August 27, at East Mercury Boulevard and Fox Hill Road. Officers were called to the intersection around 11:36 p.m. following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Responding officers found Anthony Harris lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved had fled before officers arrived. A 46-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the deadly hit-and-run. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with more information expected to be released later.
