San Juan Capistrano, CA (August 19, 2026) – An unidentified man died early on Monday, August 17, after being struck by a vehicle on Ortega Highway about a half mile east of Interstate 5, near St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, according to authorities. The hit-and-run crash happened around 12:30 a.m.
The driver fled before officers arrived. His identity has not been released.
The search for the driver responsible remains ongoing. Our condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
