What Can Lead to Loss of Control During Passing Maneuvers on Highways?
Routes carrying regional traffic near U.S. 50 southwest of Florence can see delays after accidents. In Marion County, crews often focus on clearing vehicles while maintaining safe travel conditions.
Passing another vehicle on a highway requires careful timing and lane control. When a vehicle drifts out of position during a pass, it can create a side-impact collision or force a sudden loss of control.
Towing vehicles, such as trucks pulling campers, may also affect how traffic flows. Differences in speed and space needed for passing can increase the risk of contact, especially on two-lane or partially divided roadways.
