Why Trolley and Bicycle Accidents Can Be Severe
Crashes involving bicycles and large transit vehicles can cause serious injuries because cyclists have little protection. A trolley’s size and weight can make the impact especially dangerous, even at lower city speeds.
When a rider becomes pinned beneath a vehicle, rescue work may take added time and equipment. Airbag lifting systems can help raise heavy vehicles enough for crews to reach the injured person safely.
Urban intersections can also create risks for cyclists. Buses, trolleys, cars, and pedestrians may all share the same space. Turning movements, blind spots, and limited reaction time can increase the chance of a severe collision.
