Crashes at City Intersections Can Involve Multiple Risk Factors
Intersections are common locations for traffic crashes because vehicles cross paths from different directions. Timing and right-of-way decisions can lead to collisions if drivers misjudge speed or distance.
Urban areas may add challenges such as traffic signals, turning vehicles, and varying traffic flow. At night, reduced visibility can make it harder to react quickly to changing conditions.
Driver behavior is another factor. Speed, distraction, or failure to follow signals can increase the likelihood of a crash. These elements often combine to create complex situations at busy intersections.
