Intersection Crash Safety and Awareness
Intersections remain one of the most common locations for serious vehicle collisions due to crossing traffic patterns and split-second decision-making. Drivers are encouraged to remain attentive, obey traffic controls, and carefully check for oncoming vehicles before entering intersections.
High-speed impacts at intersections can result in catastrophic injuries, particularly when multiple occupants are involved. Wearing seat belts and reducing speed when approaching intersections can significantly improve safety and reduce injury severity during a crash.
Officials also remind motorists to avoid distractions while driving and remain alert for changing traffic conditions. The North Dakota State Patrol continues to investigate the fatal Minot collision.
