The California Highway Patrol reported the accident at about 11:26 p.m. Initial details showed a Chevrolet in the center divider and a black SUV on the right shoulder. A green Kia SUV was later reported in the middle lanes, with the mother inside listed as injured.

The roadway was later reported fully stopped as emergency units worked around the vehicles. A good Samaritan in a Chevrolet Traverse was also reported on the right shoulder with fog lights shining toward the vehicles.

A tow truck was requested, with an estimated arrival time of about one hour. Additional details about the accident, including the identities of those involved and the full extent of the mother’s injuries, were not immediately available.
