Santa Ana, CA (July 16, 2026) – A motorcycle rider was injured in a collision on southbound SR-55 just south of I-5 on Thursday morning. The accident, involving a motorcycle, a BMW, and a Toyota RAV4, was reported shortly after 7:35 a.m.
Initial dispatch information indicated the rider was down in the HOV lane following the collision. Later updates stated that the motorcycle and one of the involved vehicles came to rest in the center divider, and that passing motorists stopped to assist before emergency units arrived.
Traffic was affected as the HOV lane and one additional lane were blocked during the response. The identity of the rider and the extent of the injuries were not immediately released. The circumstances surrounding the wreck remain under investigation as additional information becomes available.
