Pomona, CA (July 28, 2026) – A motorcyclist was injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a big rig on Monday morning, July 27, on southbound State Route 71 near Mission Boulevard in Pomona.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the collision was reported shortly after 7 a.m. Initial reports indicated a motorcycle had gone down and caught fire after the crash with a tractor-trailer. Witnesses reported the rider was on the ground and appeared to be injured while Good Samaritans assisted at the scene.
The burning motorcycle blocked the No. 1 lane, and all southbound lanes were temporarily closed as Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded. Two trucks also stopped to block traffic and help protect the crash scene while emergency personnel worked. The damaged motorcycle was later towed from the freeway, and all lanes were reopened after the roadway was cleared.
Authorities have not released the extent of the rider’s injuries or additional details about the circumstances leading to the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
