Sacramento, CA (July 28, 2026) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning, July 26, at the intersection of Calvine Road and Auberry Drive in Sacramento.

According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the collision was reported shortly after 8 a.m. and involved a gray Toyota and a white sport utility vehicle. Initial reports indicated both parties were injured, with one person reportedly suffering a head injury.

Emergency responders also found two juveniles outside one of the vehicles. Their conditions were not immediately released. A caller told dispatchers that the gray Toyota allegedly ran a red light before colliding with the SUV, though investigators have not confirmed that information.

The crash temporarily blocked the roadway while emergency crews treated those involved and investigated the scene. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.

We are thinking of everyone involved and wish those injured a full and speedy recovery.

Why Red-Light Intersection Crashes Result in Serious Injuries?

Intersections are among the most common locations for injury crashes because vehicles traveling in different directions cross paths at relatively high speeds. When a driver enters an intersection against a traffic signal, the resulting side-impact or angled collision can generate significant forces and increase the likelihood of injuries.

Investigators typically examine traffic signal timing, vehicle damage, witness statements, surveillance footage, and physical evidence from the roadway to determine how the crash occurred. While witness accounts can provide valuable information, officials generally rely on all available evidence before reaching conclusions about fault.

When children are involved in a collision, emergency responders carefully evaluate them even if injuries are not immediately apparent. Medical assessments help identify potential injuries that may not be obvious at the scene.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.
