Why Are Motorcycle Crashes Likely to Result in Serious Injuries?
Motorcyclists have less physical protection than people inside passenger vehicles, leaving them more vulnerable to severe injuries during a collision. The severity of injuries can depend on factors such as the speed of the vehicles, the point of impact, and whether protective equipment was being used.
Investigators reviewing a motorcycle crash may examine vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, and available surveillance footage. These details can help establish how the motorcycle and other vehicle were traveling before the collision and reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.
