Why Are Motorcycle Crashes Likely to Result in Serious Injuries?
Motorcyclists have less physical protection than occupants of passenger vehicles, making them more vulnerable to severe injuries in a collision. The severity of injuries can depend on factors such as vehicle speed, point of impact, and whether protective equipment was used.
Investigators reviewing a motorcycle crash may examine vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, and available surveillance footage. These details can help establish how the motorcycle and other vehicle were traveling before the collision and reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.
