Woodside, NY (July 3, 2026) – A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Thursday morning after colliding with a box truck at an intersection in Woodside, according to police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. on July 2, near Roosevelt Avenue and 64th Street. Investigators said the rider was traveling westbound on a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck a delivery box truck that was also traveling westbound and making a right turn onto 64th Street.
The impact threw the motorcyclist from the motorcycle, and he landed near the northwest corner of the intersection. Emergency responders found the rider unconscious and unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity pending notification of family members.
Police said the motorcycle came to rest on the sidewalk near the intersection, while the rider’s helmet was found in the crosswalk. The 57-year-old driver of the box truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests have been made; however, the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
