Weymouth Twp., NJ (August 27, 2026) – A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed on Monday evening, August 24, in a head-on crash with a pickup truck on Route 50 in Weymouth Township.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the motorcyclist was traveling south on Route 50 while a Chevrolet pickup was heading north. Police said the pickup turned left toward the parking lot of Belco Liquors, where the two vehicles collided head-on.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.

Why Can Head-On Motorcycle Crashes Be Especially Deadly?
Motorcyclists have little protection from direct impact forces, and head-on collisions can expose riders to severe trauma in a very short amount of time.
A rider may also be thrown from the motorcycle after the initial impact, creating the risk of a second collision with the roadway, another vehicle, or a fixed object.
