Howell County, MO (July 30, 2026) – A 41-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a head-on crash on US 160 at County Road 1120, about three miles east of West Plains, on Tuesday afternoon, July 28. The collision was reported at approximately 4:27 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2001 Honda Shadow operated by a 41-year-old man from West Plains crossed the centerline and entered the path of an eastbound 2002 Ford F-150 driven by a 57-year-old Mountain View man. The motorcycle and pickup then collided head-on.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician from Ozarks Healthcare at 5:18 p.m. His body was taken to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains after the next of kin were notified. The pickup driver was not listed as injured in the initial report. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were removed from the roadway.
