The crash remains under investigation. Additional details may become available as authorities continue their review.
We are thinking of the injured person and hope for a full recovery.
Why Highway Crashes Involving Semi-Trailers Can Be Severe
Crashes involving semi-trailers can cause serious injuries due to the size and weight differences between the vehicles. A passenger car may take heavy damage when struck by a larger truck, especially along the side.
Highway intersections can also add risk because vehicles may be entering, crossing, or turning near faster traffic. Drivers may have limited time to react when another vehicle appears in their path.
When a vehicle leaves the roadway after impact, added hazards can follow. Ditches, fuel leaks, fire, and blocked lanes can make the scene more dangerous. Quick action by bystanders and emergency units can help reduce further harm after a crash.
