Safety Concerns in Construction Zone Crashes
Construction zones can change quickly during the day. Lane shifts, cones, signs, workers, and equipment may require drivers to slow down and stay alert near active work areas.
Workers managing traffic flow may stand close to moving vehicles. Even with high-visibility clothing, they can face serious risk when large vehicles pass through a work zone. Box trucks are heavier than passenger cars and may need more space to stop.
After a construction zone crash, medical teams often check for head trauma, broken bones, and internal injuries. Road layout, vehicle speed, visibility, and traffic control setup can affect the severity of injuries.
