Why Gravel Road Crashes Can Be Dangerous for Teens
Driving on gravel roads can be challenging, especially for inexperienced drivers. Loose surfaces reduce tire traction, making it easier for vehicles to skid or lose control.
Overcorrecting while trying to steer back onto the road is a common cause of rollovers and crashes. Speed, road conditions, and sudden hills or curves can amplify the risk.
Teen drivers are particularly vulnerable because they often have less experience judging road conditions and vehicle response. Crashes on gravel roads frequently result in serious injuries or fatalities due to the combination of vehicle instability and high-impact collisions.
