Newbury, VT (January 26, 2026) – A tragic single-vehicle rollover crash on Tenney Pond Rd in Newbury claimed the life of a 69-year-old man on January 22. Vermont State Police confirmed that the victim, identified as Jeffrey Linsky of Wells River, was pronounced deceased despite rescue efforts at the scene.
According to the official report, Linsky was traveling northbound in a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado when the vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned into a nearby pond. Troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to the call at approximately 2:43 p.m. and found the vehicle partially submerged.
Emergency crews worked to recover the driver and initiated lifesaving measures, but Linsky was unresponsive and later declared dead. Road conditions at the time were reported as packed snow, though the weather was clear.
The crash remains under investigation by Vermont State Police. No additional information has been released regarding potential contributing factors.
