Frequently Asked Questions
What usually causes crashes like this one?
Common factors include driver distraction, failure to yield at intersections, and misjudging turns or stopping distances. Investigators typically review all of these before determining a cause.
Why are intersection crashes usually more severe?
Vehicles meeting at an angle or at speed can produce stronger side-impact forces than crashes on open roads, which can increase the risk of injury to occupants.
What should someone do after being involved in a crash with injuries?
Call 911, stay at the scene if it's safe, and remember to seek medical evaluation even for injuries that seem minor at first, since some symptoms can take time to appear.
