Why Pedestrian Crashes at Intersections Can Be So Severe
Pedestrian crashes at intersections are often serious due to the interaction between vehicles and individuals crossing or walking near roadways. Even at moderate speeds, the human body is highly vulnerable to impact, which can result in critical or fatal injuries.
Intersections can be particularly hazardous because they involve multiple directions of traffic, turning vehicles, and varying visibility conditions. Drivers and pedestrians must remain alert and follow traffic signals carefully to reduce the risk of these devastating incidents.
