Oakdale, CA (January 15, 2026) – A pedestrian was tragically killed early Wednesday morning after being hit by a pickup truck on State Route 108 near Langworth Rd in Oakdale, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal incident occurred around 3:22 a.m. on January 14. Authorities say a Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on SR-108 struck the pedestrian for reasons that have not yet been determined. It is unclear whether the pedestrian was in the roadway or attempting to cross when the collision occurred.
Firefighters and American Medical Response (AMR) personnel responded to the scene to provide emergency aid. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Officials have not indicated whether the driver remained at the scene or if any citations have been issued.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing as CHP continues to gather evidence and speak with potential witnesses.
