OAKLAND, Alameda County, Calif., Sept. 25, 2026 — A three-vehicle crash left at least one vehicle rolled onto its side Wednesday afternoon, September 23, on eastbound Interstate 580 near the MacArthur Boulevard onramp in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol. The agency reported minor injuries among those involved.
The California Highway Patrol's traffic log shows a dark-colored SUV was reported involved with another vehicle shortly before 3:30 p.m., with two or three people reported out of their vehicles near the right lane. Within minutes, dispatchers logged a gray pickup truck that had rolled over and a white Toyota 4Runner with damage to its left side. The crash blocked at least two lanes of eastbound traffic.
Oakland Fire Department units responded to the scene, and a request for ambulance response was made by a reporting party, CHP records show. At least one person was reported being transported from the scene. The agency's log classified the collision as a minor-injury crash involving three vehicles.
Tow trucks were requested and canceled more than once as CHP worked to clear the wreckage, with East Bay Tow eventually dispatched to remove vehicles from the roadway.
