Ocala, FL (May 14, 2026) – Three people, including two children, were transported to the hospital Thursday morning following a crash on Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala.

According to reports, the collision occurred around 9:49 a.m. near the Interstate 75 on-ramp. Authorities said the crash involved a sedan and a pickup truck towing a trailer, which temporarily blocked westbound lanes in the area.

Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the scene and found both vehicles with moderate to heavy front-end damage. Officials stated that the drivers of both vehicles were able to exit their vehicles and were ambulatory when crews arrived.

Emergency responders confirmed that all occupants of the sedan were taken to the hospital for evaluation. One child was listed as a trauma alert as a precaution. Authorities noted that an infant and a toddler had been seated in the back of the sedan at the time of the crash.

The circumstances leading up to the collision have not yet been released. The incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with those injured in this crash, and we hope for their full recovery.

Injury Crashes Near Highway Ramps

Crashes near interstate ramps and busy intersections can create hazardous conditions due to merging traffic, lane changes, and varying vehicle speeds. Vehicles towing trailers may also require additional stopping distance and maneuvering room, increasing the risk of collisions in congested areas.

Officials encourage drivers to remain alert near highway entrances and exits, maintain safe following distances, and ensure child passengers are properly restrained at all times. Prompt medical evaluation is especially important for young passengers involved in crashes, even when injuries initially appear minor.
