Albemarle County, VA (August 21, 2026) – A police officer was seriously injured Wednesday, August 19, during a crash on Browns Gap Turnpike near Slam Gate Road.
The wreck occurred around 3:55 p.m. while the officer was at the location handling a call for service, according to police. The officer was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
