Why Hit-and-Run Incidents Involving Pedestrians Can Be Especially Dangerous
Roadways such as West Wilshire Boulevard and North Rockwell Avenue often carry steady traffic through residential and commercial areas. When pedestrians are present near intersections or crossing points, the risk of a crash can increase if drivers fail to slow down or notice people in the roadway.
Children may be especially vulnerable in these situations because they are smaller and can be harder for drivers to see. Their movements can also be unpredictable, particularly when crossing streets near homes, schools, or busy intersections.
When a driver leaves the scene of a crash, it can delay immediate assistance for the injured person. Quick response from nearby witnesses or emergency crews can help ensure that medical care is provided as soon as possible.
