Oklahoma City, OK (January 15, 2026) – A collision involving injuries was reported early Thursday morning on the southbound side of Interstate 240 near South Western Avenue in Oklahoma City.
The crash occurred around 1:02 a.m., prompting the dispatch of Engine 9 and Rescue Ladder 25 to the scene. Responders located at least one vehicle involved in the highway crash and began providing emergency care to the injured.
Medics treated victims at the scene, and at least one individual was transported to a nearby hospital for additional evaluation. Officials have not released details regarding the number of people injured or the extent of those injuries.
Traffic in the southbound lanes of I-240 was temporarily impacted as emergency teams worked to manage the situation and investigate the cause of the crash. The area near S Western Ave is a busy corridor with frequent overnight traffic, which can increase the risk of high-speed incidents.
