The cause of the crash remains under investigation as officials continue gathering information. We hope the injured person receives strong care and support during recovery.
Why Head-On Crashes Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Head-on crashes can be severe because two vehicles often meet with strong force from opposite directions. People inside may be pushed against seat belts, airbags, dashboards, doors, or steering wheels. These impacts can cause head, chest, spine, arm, leg, or internal injuries.
Nighttime crashes on rural highways can also create added risks because visibility may be lower and emergency help may need more time to reach the scene. When a person is airlifted, responders may be trying to get the patient to advanced trauma care as quickly as possible. Investigators may review lane position, road markings, speed, lighting, vehicle damage, and witness statements to understand how the vehicles collided.
