Danielson, CT (July 29, 2026) – A residential structure fire on Hawkins St in Danielson left one person with burn injuries and a firefighter hurt Wednesday morning. Emergency units were sent to the 30 block of Hawkins St shortly before 7:30 a.m.
Crews arrived and found the residence heavily involved in flames after all occupants had evacuated. A person with burn injuries was found outside the home and taken by ambulance to Day Kimball Hospital before being flown to Bridgeport for additional treatment.
A firefighter also received minor injuries after being struck by a falling window and frame. The firefighter was initially treated at the site before later being taken to a hospital for further evaluation. The firefighter’s current condition was not released.
Around 30 cats were reported inside the home, and emergency units rescued at least one cat that was taken to a veterinary hospital. The cause of the fire remains under review. Our thoughts are with those affected as they recover from their injuries.
