Orlando, FL (September 1, 2026) – A 37-year-old Orlando woman was killed, and three others were seriously injured, on Sunday night on Colonial Dr in east Orlando.
The collision happened around 10:30 p.m. at Sherman St, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The woman was stopped in the westbound left-turn lane of Colonial Dr and attempted to turn left onto Sherman St.
She entered the path of an eastbound Mercedes-Benz, which struck the right side of her Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Trailblazer overturned following the collision.
The Mercedes driver, a 21-year-old Orlando man, and two passengers, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, were seriously injured. All three were taken to a hospital for treatment. The woman driving the Chevrolet was also taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The eastbound side of Colonial Dr remained closed for about eight hours before reopening around 6 a.m. Monday. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under review.
