Orlando, FL (September 1, 2026) – A 29-year-old Connecticut man died on Sunday after a two-vehicle accident at Central Florida Parkway and International Drive. The collision happened around 2:45 a.m. after a vehicle reportedly ran a red light.
Troopers identified the driver as 19-year-old Christopher Laureda of Orlando. The vehicle he was driving overturned onto its left side after striking the other car.
The 29-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. A 23-year-old Connecticut woman who was riding with him also went to a hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers said Laureda left the site on foot after the wreck. His three passengers remained behind and had minor injuries, according to the report.
Laureda was later found and detained before troopers arrested him. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and DUI manslaughter. The circumstances surrounding the fatal wreck remain under investigation.
