Okaloosa County, FL (September 1, 2026) – Three crashes involving 11 vehicles left six people with minor injuries on Sunday on Interstate 10 in Okaloosa County. The first collision occurred around 3 p.m. near westbound mile marker 46.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, heavy rain caused one driver to lose control. The vehicle struck a guardrail before hitting another vehicle.
Two additional crashes then occurred nearby, bringing the total number of vehicles involved to 11. Six people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The wrecks shut down the westbound lanes of I-10 for about three and a half hours. The lanes reopened at approximately 6:42 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the three accidents remain under review. We hope those hurt make a full recovery.
