Charleston, SC (August 8, 2026) – One person was found dead after a house fire on Thursday night on Oakland Rd. Emergency units arrived shortly after 8 p.m. and found a single-family home burning.
Neighbors told emergency personnel that someone might still be inside the residence. Emergency units entered the home and searched for occupants while working to bring the fire under control.
The fire was contained in about 15 minutes, but during the search, one person was found dead on the first floor. The origin and cause of the fire have not been determined. The investigation remains ongoing, and our condolences go to the deceased person’s loved ones.
