What Information Is Typically Reviewed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash?
After a serious roadway crash, early information frequently focuses on how the vehicles were traveling and what actions were taken in the moments before contact. Investigators may review travel directions, roadway markings, and traffic patterns to understand how the sequence unfolded.
Statements from those involved and witnesses can also help establish a timeline. Physical evidence, such as vehicle damage and roadway debris, may provide additional clues about movement and speed. Medical findings are sometimes reviewed later to help confirm the extent of harm caused.
Traffic closures and on-site observations can also help document how the roadway was affected during the response period.
