Dayton, NV (June 30, 2026) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and two other vehicles shut down U.S. 50 in both directions near Segale Road. The collision occurred in the east Dayton area and led to major traffic disruptions across the Carson Valley.
According to emergency units, the crash happened around 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, June 28. Nevada State Police confirmed the incident involved a semi-truck and two additional vehicles. Officials reported that one person was killed in the collision, while at least one other individual was transported to a hospital by air ambulance.
The impact forced the closure of U.S. 50 in both directions as crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the scene. Traffic was diverted to alternate routes, with officials warning that delays could last several hours. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
