Loganville, GA (July 7, 2026) – One woman died, and multiple people were hurt on Monday morning, July 6, after a multi-vehicle collision on Georgia Highway 81 at Forest Falls Drive in Walton County. The accident was reported around 5:21 a.m., following an initial emergency call at about 5:16 a.m.

The woman who lost her life was identified as Labrane Green-West, 52, of Loganville. A preliminary report said the Hyundai Kona she was driving was traveling north on Georgia Highway 81 when it entered the southbound lane and sideswiped a Ford F-150.

The Hyundai later struck a Toyota 4Runner, while the Ford continued south and hit a Chevrolet Malibu. The Toyota and Ford overturned, and all four vehicles came to rest either in the road or along the shoulder.

An earlier fire rescue update reported multiple injuries, including one critical injury. Georgia Highway 81 was closed at Forest Falls Drive, with traffic detoured from Bay Creek Church Road to Shiloh Road, before reopening by 8:56 a.m. The wreck remains under review as investigators continue piecing together the sequence of the four-vehicle crash.

We extend our sincere condolences to Green-West’s family and hope everyone hurt makes a swift and full recovery.

What Makes Highway Crashes Involving Multiple Vehicles Severe?

Multi-vehicle highway crashes can become serious because one point of contact may quickly affect several other vehicles. When vehicles rotate, overturn, or leave the travel lane, nearby drivers may have little time to react safely.

Road shoulders, lane width, traffic speed, and the angle of contact can all shape how severe the outcome becomes. A sideswipe may lead to a second movement, and that movement can place other vehicles in the path of danger. Larger vehicles may also overturn when momentum shifts suddenly.

In these cases, reports usually review vehicle paths, final resting positions, road closures, and medical updates. Those details can help explain why some people may have minor harm while another person loses their life.
