San Diego, CA (August 4, 2026) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 North near Rancho Bernardo on Sunday, August 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported shortly before 4:50 a.m. on I-15 North near the Rancho Bernardo area. Initial reports indicated a red Mazda and another vehicle were involved, with airbags deployed in the Mazda. One vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder while the other stopped in the center divider. Emergency units responded to the scene, where one person was reported to be injured. Authorities also indicated that one of the drivers was being investigated for suspected driving under the influence.
The crash caused significant traffic delays, with all northbound lanes temporarily stopped at one point before traffic began moving again. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released. We are thinking of the injured person and wish them a full recovery.
