Sparks, NV (July 31, 2026) – One person was hurt after a collision involving a semi-truck and a street sweeper early on Thursday morning on eastbound I-80 at Prater Way. The accident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. on July 30.
Investigators said the collision prompted the closure of all eastbound lanes of I-80 at Prater Way, while the left lane of westbound I-80 was also shut down. Recovery of the semi-truck proved challenging, extending the roadway closures until about 9:45 a.m.
One person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No identities or additional details about those involved were released. The cause of the collision remains under investigation as investigators continue reviewing the circumstances.
