South Bend Township, MN (July 31, 2026) – One person was seriously hurt after a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday evening on Highway 169 at County Road 69 in Blue Earth County. The accident happened around 5:42 p.m. on July 29.
Investigators said a Subaru Legacy and a Freightliner semi-truck with a trailer were both traveling eastbound on Highway 169 when one vehicle struck the rear of the other. The Subaru driver, identified as 50-year-old Jeremy Gordon Kuznia of Lake Crystal, was taken to MCHS Mankato with life-threatening injuries.
The semi-truck driver, 63-year-old Jimmie Walter Davis of Minneapolis, was not hurt. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately released.
The cause of the wreck remains under review as investigators continue examining the details. We are thinking of the injured driver and wishing him strength during recovery.
