Horry County, SC (August 20, 2026) – One person was injured in a boat crash on Thursday, August 20, near the Danny Knight Boating Facility on the Waccamaw River in Horry County.
Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the area at approximately 5 a.m. Emergency crews located the boater involved in the crash and transported the person to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not immediately release information about the severity of the injuries or the circumstances that led to the collision. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
