Why Right-of-Way Violations Often Lead to Intersection Collisions
Intersections are among the most common places for roadway collisions because vehicles approach from different directions and must rely on traffic controls and right-of-way rules. When one driver enters an intersection without yielding, other motorists may have little time to react, increasing the chance of a serious impact.
After this type of crash, investigators often examine vehicle positions, travel directions, traffic control devices, and driver statements. Road conditions, visibility, and speed may also be reviewed to help determine how the sequence unfolded. Even when injuries appear minor at first, some symptoms can develop hours later, making medical evaluation a common precaution after a collision. Information gathered from vehicle damage, witness accounts, and roadway evidence can help provide a clearer picture of what occurred and why the vehicles came into contact.
