What Can Drivers Do to Stay Safe at Rural Intersections?
Intersections can become hazardous when drivers fail to see approaching traffic or misjudge another vehicle’s speed. Roads with limited visibility, changing traffic patterns, or unfamiliar layouts can require extra attention from motorists.
Drivers should approach intersections at a controlled speed and check carefully for vehicles traveling from both directions. Staying focused on the roadway and obeying posted signs can help reduce the chance of a collision. Extra caution is also helpful during early morning hours when visibility may be reduced.
