Newark, NJ (August 15, 2026) – At least one person suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash late on Thursday night, August 13, on Route 1&9 in Newark. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes just south of South Street shortly before 11 p.m.
Rescue crews responded to the scene as the injured person was taken to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. The victim’s current condition has not been released. The crash caused traffic delays while crews assisted the injured and cleared damaged vehicles and debris from the highway.
