Orange County, CA (January 22, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a suspected DUI crash at the intersection of Warner Ave and Newhope St on the evening of January 19, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. when a vehicle reportedly hit the pedestrian near the busy Orange County intersection. Emergency responders, including police and firefighters, arrived quickly to render aid, but the pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased individual, pending notification of family members.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver may have been under the influence at the time of the crash. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision.
