What Can Cause an Overturning Vehicle Crash?
A vehicle can overturn after striking another car, losing control, or encountering an obstruction. The impact can change a vehicle’s direction or balance, especially when the collision occurs at an angle or involves a sudden change in movement.
Parked vehicles can also become involved in crashes when a moving vehicle leaves its lane or loses control. The force of the initial impact may cause additional movement, increasing the chance of another collision or rollover.
After an overturning crash, vehicle damage can help show where the initial impact occurred. Road conditions, vehicle positions, photographs, and witness accounts may also provide information about how the sequence unfolded.
