Smith County, TN (July 28, 2026) – A driver was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle after a crash involving a passenger car and a tractor on Sunday night, July 26, in Smith County. Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 70 and Ballenger Road shortly before 10:00 p.m.
Responders found the driver trapped inside the vehicle and worked to remove the person. Rescue crews removed both doors and the roof of the vehicle before using hydraulic equipment to lift the dashboard away from the driver’s legs.
The driver was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital for additional evaluation and treatment. The person’s current condition is unknown at this time. We wish those involved a smooth recovery.
