Lafayette Parish, LA (September 8, 2026) – A passenger was killed, and three others were hurt after a Tahoe crashed in Lafayette Parish.
The victim was identified as Tolentino Ramirez-Cornejo, who was a passenger in the Tahoe. Two other passengers were taken to an area hospital following the crash.
One passenger had minor injuries, while another suffered severe injuries. Both were listed in stable condition. The Tahoe’s driver, Justyce Griffith of Alexandria, also had minor injuries.
Authorities said Griffith was driving under the influence of alcohol and tested above the legal limit. Griffith was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges including vehicular homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, two counts of first-degree vehicular negligent injuring, careless operation, and failure to secure a driver’s license.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation.
