How Early Morning Fires Can Spread Inside Establishments
Homes on residential streets like Sabin Street often have bedrooms and living spaces located close together, which can allow fire and smoke to spread quickly once flames begin.
During early morning hours, people may still be asleep when a fire begins. Smoke alarms and quick evacuation can help residents leave safely before flames grow stronger. Even when the fire is confined to a small area at first, heat and smoke can spread through hallways and into other rooms within minutes.
Water used to stop the fire can also damage personal belongings inside the place. Items such as clothing, electronics, and furniture may be affected by both water and smoke during the response to a residential fire.
