Why Motorcycle Passengers Face Serious Risk in Roadway Crashes
Roadways such as the area around Bud Graham Road and 7th Avenue often carry both local and regional traffic, creating situations where motorcycles must share space with larger vehicles. When a motorcycle leaves the roadway or crosses into another lane, the lack of protective barriers around riders can lead to severe outcomes.
Motorcycle passengers are especially vulnerable because they rely on the operator to maintain balance and control. Sudden movements, sharp turns, or loss of control can throw riders off the bike or lead to direct impact with the ground or nearby objects.
Even at moderate speeds, the weight and motion of a motorcycle can create strong forces during a crash. Protective gear, road awareness, and safe riding conditions are factors that may influence how serious injuries become when a motorcycle accident occurs.
