What Is Usually Examined After a Motorcycle and Pedestrian Collision?
A motorcycle-pedestrian collision usually involves a detailed review of several factors. Investigators commonly examine the position of both the motorcycle and the pedestrian, roadway markings, traffic signals, lighting, and weather at the time. Skid marks, debris, and vehicle damage may also help establish the sequence of events before contact.
Witness statements and nearby surveillance footage, when available, can provide additional insight into how the roadway encounter unfolded. Investigators may also review speed estimates, visibility, and whether either party had the right of way. Medical findings and physical evidence gathered from the roadway are often combined to build a clearer picture of the circumstances. This process can take time, particularly when a fatality is involved, and every available piece of evidence must be carefully evaluated.
