Warren, MI (July 26, 2026) – A pedestrian was critically hurt after being struck by a vehicle along westbound I-696 near Mound Rd.
The roadway incident occurred at about 7:40 p.m. on Friday, July 24, when a person was reportedly standing on the freeway shoulder before entering the westbound lanes. According to preliminary findings, the person was then hit by a passing vehicle.
Emergency units arrived and took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital, where the person remained in critical condition. No information about the driver or any possible contributing factors was immediately released.
